At Canal Fulton Music, we offer high-quality private lessons for all instruments—from strings and brass to percussion, woodwinds, and voice! All lessons are $25 per half hour. There is no registration fee or contract to sign.
With regular performance opportunities, students get the chance to showcase their progress and gain real-world experience.
We recommend starting piano lessons at age 4, as younger children typically have the fine motor skills needed to begin playing. Voice lessons are best for children ages 9 and up, when vocal cords are more developed. For most other private instrument lessons, age 8 is a great starting point.
Looking to start even earlier? We welcome little ones as young as 2 weeks old in our Kindermusik program—a playful, research-based music and movement class that builds a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Yes—having an instrument at home is essential for consistent practice and progress. We recommend students aim to practice about 30 minutes a day, if possible.
If you don’t currently have an instrument, we’ve got you covered! We sell instruments in-store and offer a convenient rent-to-own program for keyboards, guitars, and most orchestral instruments. We’ll help you find the right fit for your student and your budget.
Our lessons are $25 per half-hour, with no registration fees and no pre-pay contracts required. We highly recommend weekly lessons for steady progress, but we also understand that every family is different—bi-weekly lessons are available if that better suits your schedule.

Yes! Parents are always welcome to sit in on lessons—especially for younger students.
